No Guarantees

NW Drivers Ed, LLC exists to help new and experienced drivers with developing positive habits and safe driving practices. While it is common understanding that NW Drivers Ed, LLC cannot guarantee what will occur while you are driving, this policy exists to reiterate that which is common sense.

The skills we teach may greatly improve your ability to avoid crashes and collisions while driving.  However, it is the responsibility of the licensed driver or permitted driver, whether or not he or she uses the tools that are taught, to make responsible, safe, and legal driving decisions. We are unable to guarantee that during a service or after completion of a service through NW Drivers Ed, LLC that you will not be involved in a driving related incident. We cannot guarantee you will successfully pass your drive test even if an instructor finds that you are prepared to take and should be able to pass your test. We cannot guarantee that you will not be involved in a collision or a crash. Due to the nature of traffic conditions varying during every driving lesson/service we offer, we cannot guarantee that you will be taught or retain every available driving tool/tip.

Safety & Responsibility

At NW Drivers Ed, LLC safety is our first priority. The vehicles we use for driving lessons and most other services are equipped with dual controls and instructor side mirrors. In order to teach at NW Drivers Ed, LLC, instructors are to be certified by the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles. While safety is our first priority, due to the inherent nature of the type of services we offer we cannot guarantee your safety.

During any of the services we offer (driving lessons, assessments, coaching or other) you will be given directions to perform various driving maneuvers while operating a vehicle. It is your responsibility as the licensed or permitted driver to make responsible, safe, and legal driving decisions while maintaining control of the vehicle. NW Drivers Ed, LLC instructors will attempt to prevent any dangerous or illegal driving incidents from taking place, but there are no guarantees the instructor present in the vehicle will be able to prevent an incident from taking place. An inherent responsibility of a driver is to assess constantly changing roadway conditions while implementing safe driving practices and maintaining control of the vehicle; thus, it is a necessary part of the services we offer that you demonstrate your ability to do so. To reiterate, the instructor in the vehicle will attempt to prevent incidents from occurring but no guarantees can be made.

Discretionary Policies

Getting into a vehicle with a stranger may feel awkward at first. We understand! We get into cars with strangers all the time. The following discretionary policies are designed to support and enforce a safe environment and protect both client and instructor.

Right to Deny/Refuse Services

If for any reason we are unable to accommodate the specific needs or preferences of a client/student, we reserve the right to deny or otherwise refuse to provide services (i.e. if a specific instructor or instructor type is requested when unavailable). We reserve the right to deny one-on-one custom lessons (sometimes referred to as private lessons) whenever we have reason to believe that it may create an uncomfortable environment either for the client/student or the instructor.

Right to Require an Observer

At the discretion of management or at the request of an instructor, we may deny a client’s request for one-on-one custom lessons (sometimes referred to as private lessons) and require an observer be present. At our discretion, we may require the observer be another client/student. We do allow clients to arrange to have their own observer present so long as the observer completes all the required paperwork and understands the risks. We realize this may create challenges to scheduling appointments and we appreciate your understanding.

Development of Educational Material

We reserve the right to use any recordings or images when developing educational materials. If clients/students do not want recordings or images containing images of themselves used in the development of educational materials they may notify their instructor or management.
